On The Job?

I'm surprised this story has legs.
Republican Sen. Rick Santorum's re-election campaign is making an issue of Casey's work-attendance record, accusing the top Democratic challenger of "skipping work" that voters elected him to do. Santorum is also sponsoring a "Where's Bob Casey?" Web site.

Casey's campaign says the time he spends in his office is not a meaningful gauge of his performance. He regularly confers with Treasury Department staff and participates in business meetings by telephone, and the department has run smoothly during his 14-month tenure, it says.

"Bob is treasurer 24/7," said Casey's campaign manager, Jay Reiff.

"He is ultimately responsible for everything that happens in that office," Reiff said. "Things are going right and he's getting a lot done."

Robert Traynham, Santorum's press secretary, questioned whether management by telephone "passes the smell test."

"Calling in to the office is one thing," Traynham said. "Showing up ... is something completely different."

If I want to visit my Treasurer, I'd like to know that I can stop by and have a decent chance of meeting him...

My state rep is very accessible...why isn't Casey?

Casey is not a state rep.! This is a none issue but if you think it is then why does Ricky not live in the state of PA? He only shows up here in PA either to deliver pork or beg for money and for a photo op and afterwards rushes of to VA

Ummm...Santorum's job is in Washington. Casey's job is in Harrisburg.

Which one is in his office more?

Thank you...come again!

Casey lives in PA and I do believe that Ricky ran on a platform early in his pol. career that questioned his opponent for not living in the state of PA. Rich I am correct on that one you can check but hacks always forget the truth. This was when he was running for congress.

So THANK YOU and come again.

By the way isn't this supposed to be a blog about Ricky? More info about Bob Casey. I come here daily to find insight into my upcoming vote but all I find are silly he said she said type articles nothing about Ricky's platform or his votes and why he voted. Forget the spin how about substance.

Dismis, please consult Rick Santorum, Bob Casey, Chuck Pennacchio or Alan Sandals' websites for positions and platforms. You'll have an easier time with some than with others.

As far as who gets what time on the topics, it's all driven by the links. If there are more articles online about Casey/Pennacchio/Sandals, that's what you'll see.

What this blog about is listed both in the Disclaimer at the bottom of the left bar and in the Under New Management post.

I'm not going to post every "Look Senator Santorum gave someone a 6 foot check!" article. It's boring.

If you're looking for more Santorum articles, by all means, go to google news and search for them. That's what I do.

Failing that, you are free to a) quit reading b) quit commenting c) begin your own blog with "substance."
